Last October members of Visions and York Minster got together to start something new. An ancient-Future Mass, combining the best of what they each had to offer, mixing the old and the new, ancient chant and futuristic ambience, asking for feedback from the public about the direction they were taking as they began this new journey.

They wondered what would happen with this mix of ancient melodies and Anglican liturgy, with help from professional choristers and creative prayer-journeys around such an amazing medieval building. They never realised what an impact this heady mix would have! It has created a huge buzz, and the crypt of the minster has been packed virtually to overflowing on a monthly basis with many different types of people, tourists from near and far, pilgrims from other churches, and spiritual seekers, looking for something a little deeper in life.
