Unusual Suspects

A creative new project to identify and help under 25 year old new talent publish their work in a range of media. The first three – a writer, a movie maker and a musician showcase their exceptional work. Greenbelt 2007 sees the introduction of the first three: Cntrst, Isaac Everett and Sophie Dutton.

Cntrst aka Joel Baker is 17 and living in London. He produces graphics and art in a variety of media as well as music and Djing. His first Unusual Suspects contribution is a short film mixing animation, film and photography with his own original soundtrack exploring identity, particularly in today\'s climate of business and work. His work will be shown on the big screen as well as in the Unusual Suspects slot in New Forms He was namechecked by the Big Chill as a talent to look out for following his DJ set at the Big Chill Bar Open Decks competition and will be Djing in various locations at GB this year. \"Joel\" Isaac Everett is a musician, composer, audio designer and the co-founder of Transmission an underground church in New York City. His music weaves pop, glitch electronica, acid jazz and traditional liturgical melodies into a unique but familiar tapestry of urban spirituality. He will be performing in the Unusual Suspects in New Forms and leading a workshop on electronic music in the Tank. Some quotes: “Rotation synthesizes religiosity and modernity in a way this is inspiring. Isaac Everett and friends have brilliantly created new tradition in sacred music.” The Union Call “(Isaac Everett) writes brilliant, extremely effective music.” Episcopal New Yorker “exquisite and evocative” NewYorkTheatre.com “Isaac is .... a way cool dude who is worth checking out” The Turning \'The worship this morning was absolutely wonderful. The music, much of it written by Isaac Everett ... was exceedingly powerful.” Bp Katharine Jefferts Schori \"Isaac\" Sophie Dutton is an activist, a geek, a student, an idealist and a writer. Her creative juices really started flowing as a writer when she got involved with alternative worship community Visions in York. Her writing is real and honest, not afraid to confront tough issues and themes. She will be sharing poems, prayers and liturgies in New Forms with the other Unusual Suspects and taking part in the Trance Mass in Centaur. \"Sophie
