Day to day Gav visits schools talking to young people, taking assemblies, lessons and scripture Unions. He has been working full time for youth for Christ in Northern Ireland for three years and co-ordinates their Schools department, which has contact with over 23,000 young people in over 80 schools per year.
Gav is passionate about working with 11-14’s and co-ordinates yfc’s programmes; Rock Solid, rs2, mettle and Youth Alpha, as well as being one of the hosts of MANNAFEST. Mannafest is YFCNI’s large, monthly youth gathering of 100’s of young people (see www.yfcni.org/mannafest.
Over the years Gavin has trained as an Electronic Engineer, Studied in York, worked for British Gas North Thames, lived in Staines (Ali G’s home town), worked in the construction industry and taught as a secondary school teacher. He doesn’t look that old!
Although born and bred in Northern Ireland, married to Gail and now living in the “wee” village of Donaghcloney, Gav can claim to being half English owing to his Dad’s Yorkshire roots and a love of Yorkshire puds!
