The Academy

The highest standard and range of workshops we can lay our hands on – with a venue dedicated to trying it out, having a go, doing something new, improving something old – all led by professional artists and performers.

The Humanic Academy is open for all young people between the ages of 14 and 18 with various interactive workshops happening throughout the day. The Academy is open from 10.30am - 8.30pm with a wide choice of workshops. There is no need to sign up for workshops this year, just turn up at the right time! Here\'s just a taster: Steve Washington, Circus Skills Workshop The circus skills workshops this year will include all the activities of previous years Juggling, diabolo, devil stick toothbrush whirling, plate spinning, asteroid balls but this year there will be three new activities in Hat manipulation, Hola hoops and ball cups. You can either take part in a workshop or just have fun playing with some of the equipment Steve Washington, balloon modelling Workshop Also learn the tricks of the trade in the art of balloon modelling and take away your very own designs to show off to your friends. Emma Johnson, T-shirt Art workshop The workshop offers a chance to reflect on the Greenbelt experience - creating a unique wearable masterpiece - A fabric painted T-Shirt - that can be taken away at the end of the session! Dave Barratt from One Nation, Samba drumming Workshop This workshop offers the opportunity to let your hair down and experience a samba style of drumming. You do not have to be expert drummers, or to have drummed before to be able to join in with this workshop. Just come and have lots of fun!! Scratch the Sky, Kite Making workshop Faith, Hope and Gaffertape, Drama Workshop Faith, hope & gaffertape is a group of Christian creatives that believes you will find God in the friendships and experiences you share with others. Consequently, they spend their time working with young people and trying to do utterly impossible things like performing West End musicals in less than a week or recording whole albums over a weekend. Call them wild and crazy buffoons if you must but the really scary thing is – they tend to succeed. Which sort of proves their point. Come and join this drama workshop run by the directors and cast of Return to the Forbidden Planet [times of performance], expand your theatrical horizons and venture into the unknown (well not the complete unknown, we are going to plan something … promise). Tina Adams, Art and craft 1. God in my looking. (drawing/sketching natural forms - observing and wondering at God\'s amazing creativity) 2. God in my thinking. (making personal reminders to wear that help us to think frequently about God and not forget Him in the busyness of normal life.) 3. God in my breathing. (responding to a breathing prayer with oil pastels - creating art and praying at the same time).\" Youth Scratch Choir Hope UK, Anything you always wanted to know about drugs but didn\'t dare ask Led by Hope UK, a leading Christian charity working to educate Children and Young People about the effects of drug use. Romance Academy Body Percussion, Triab Sin Cru, grafitti and street-dance
