Stephen Robbings studied as an Associated Board scholar at the Royal Academy of Music with Patsy Toh and Hamish Milne. He graduated with first class honours and was awarded almost every prize for performance …

… culminating in rare distinction of being awarded for his Recital Diploma both the Chappell and MacFarren prizes, the Academy’s highest award for pianists. Stephen has given concerto and recital performances in major venues throughout the UK, including Birmingham Symphony Hall, and the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

He has played on BBC Radio and Television, has made recordings both as soloist, accompanist and chamber musician and has performed in Europe, the Far East and the USA. He has given many South Bank recitals to enthusiastic audiences and reviews and has appeared at Greenbelt numerous times over the last 25 years including a notable performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
