‘[rout] is in a constant state of flux, it is protean, adapts to circumstance and changes its shape as those involved at its core develop their ideas and approaches to music and performance. [rout] gives concert performances, creates installation work, and has made recordings both in conventional recording studios and from the inside of Paul Whitty’s fridge.

[rout] produce and associate themselves with work that often tends to the periphery, be it maximal, minimal, subliminal, deafening, barely audible. [rout] often work in conjunction or in collaboration with practitioners from other disciplines, performing and creating new work in concert halls, clubs, galleries, churches, bedrooms, railway arches, gardens, caravans, and open fields.’
