Ricky Ross

On his first solo tour for several year Ricky Ross, Deacon Blue frontman, brings Greenbelt with songs from his newly released solo album Pale Rider, and a host of classics from his back catalogue.

Real-gone-kid Ross has collaborated and written songs for other artists like Ronan Keating, James Blunt and J’Nay and covered vast song-writing territory as a reputable composer for theatre and TV. His soundtrack for Easter Tales underscored dramatic monologues from Eileen Atkins and Helen Baxendale among others.

He wrote the music for A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Citizens in Glasgow and was commissioned to write a second TV soundtrack for ITV drama premiere The Lucky Ones.

His musical detours have also taken in playing at the Royal Festival Hall to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Chilean coup that took the life of songwriter Victor Jara, hosted by Emma Thompson.
