Mike Parsons

Mike Parsons comes from Hull originally and started work as a low temperature physicist in the research group holding the world low temperature record. He warmed up a bit, read theology and was ordained in the Church of England.  He has been a theology research fellow (in computing and society), an inner city Team Rector, a Director of Ordinands and is now principal of a regional ordination training course. In his spare time he helps organise research in science and theology at Oxford and enables teaching in this area. His recent booklet on ‘Suicide: a pastoral theology’ came about after a close friend took her own life. He lives in Gloucester with his wife and is trying to persuade his children to leave home.
