I was born in Northern Uganda, and studied journalism at Makerere University, where I met my husband, the father of my three children. After I graduated, I went to work as a sports reporter. I left Uganda when my life was in danger and arrived in the UK in 2001. I was referred to the Medical Foundation because I had been tortured. I started seeing doctors, a therapist, psychiatrist and physiotherapist, and I have now joined Write to Life. I was very happy to make friends who have suffered at the hands of bad people, like me. I also work as a volunteer at the Refugee Council since July 2005.
