Glyn Secker

Glyn Secker is on the EC of Jews For Justice
For Palestinians and was a lead organiser and Captain of the Jewish Boat To
Gaza last year. His family
arrived in the UK in the 19th Century as refugees from the pogroms in Poland and
Rumania. His partner Vanessa lost
a generation of her family in the Holocaust. They live in London with their two
sons, one a psychologist, one at medical school and currently on placement in
Bethlehem. 

Glyn has a background in Lecturing, Social Science Research,
Teaching and Social Work. He has been a lifetime campaigner for social justice
and human rights; organizing and delivering printing presses to social
democratic parties in Greece in 1974, prior to the fall of the Military Junnta;
was a Charter 77 courier in 1977, coordinating with social democratic parties
in Czechoslovakia prior to the Velvet Revolution  in 1982. 

He was a member of the organizing team of the UK
Anti-Nazi League in 1977 and a member of the organizing team of the giant Rock
Against Racism concerts in 1978. He has been on fact finding missions and
solidarity work to Portugal in 1974, Algeria in 1978, Palestinian organizations
in Lebanon in 1979, and Egypt in 1981, and was a courier to social democratic
parties in Turkey 1982, following the military coup in 1980.
