After venturing into London in early 2008, Eddy Johns exchanged the electric guitar for its acoustic counterpart and began exploring the cauldron of contemporary folk music since the 1960s folk revival.
Roaming as a lone ranger through the folk and acoustic circuits of the South East, Eddy has been building up a healthy fanbase from the thriving acoustic scene, and with a string of festivals and a debut album release this summer, exciting times lie ahead.
With a trademark, textured fingerstyle approach on guitar, and lyrics blending fiction and surrealism with impressions of the ways of the world, drifting melodies will take you on a journey aboard the wildest winds, through the mists of a millions moons and back again.
Reviewers have likened Eddy to a contemporary shuffle of some of the 60s greats, describing him as ‘A heady mix of Simon and Garfunkel craft laced with the edge of an early Dylan’, with songs that lend us ‘Beautifully poetic imagery with Drake-like sensibility’
