Ciaron O’Reilly is part of radical pacifist Catholic Worker Movement and active in the Ploughshares organisation, which deactivates military equipment.
In 1991 he disarmed a B-52 Bomber at Griffis Air Force Base, for which he served 13 months in US prisons. He is currently awaiting trial for the disabling of a US Navy War Plane that was en route to Iraq. He is the author of Bomber Grounded, Runway Closed: Diary of a Gulf War Resister and Remembering Forgetting: A Non-violent Journey of Resistance to the War on East Timor.
