My Greenbelt Five: Helen Morant
We’re asking people for My Greenbelt Five – five things at this year’s Greenbelt that they’re excited about. To see all Greenbelt Fives, click here ยป
Here are the selections of Greenbelt comedy producer Helen Morant:
A beautiful folky band from Derbyshire who have – over the last couple of years – held the positions of: my favourite live band, my favourite album 2011 (Into the Murky Water), funniest Christmas song (Christmas Mistake) and best song that made me cry because of a boy (You Could Keep Me Talking). I am delighted The Leisure Society will be at Greenbelt.
2. Mike Wozniak
Apart from his fantastic moustache, it is very hard to put your finger on quite what makes Mike Wozniak so brilliant. Using classic stand up, storytelling, improvisation, audience participation, surrealism and even the odd joke, Mike holds the audience both spellbound and giggling.
3. Last Orders
Last Orders is back again, hooray. I love the way the show comes together to be different and interesting and funny and new every night. There are some great guests on Last Orders this year and there are some great surprises too.
You thought a lovely, funny play about science and religion wasn’t possible? Well you were wrong. Whether you are a scientist or a vicar, or somewhere in between, you’ll find this play (by Greenbelt stalwart and Miranda writer James Cary)fascinating and enchanting.
5. Jesus Arms
This year, as I do every year, I am planning to spend more time here than last year. But there’s always so much going on around the site that making it can be tricky…
