Methodism at Greenbelt 2012
Here’s an introduction from Greenbelt partners The Methodist Church to their activities onsite at Greenbelt 2012: Saving Paradise…
This is our third year as a Greenbelt partner and, whatever your church background, we’d like to share our enthusiasm once again for being a Christian disciple. We’ll be hosting Greenbelt talks at the Galilee venue and also eagerly await being able to share news of the panels and speakers that we are bringing as part of this programme.
Good sport
We’re delighted to be able to be running a fabulous sports area, open to all, and especially the young. Make it your chance to try something new like Boccia or Zumba. We’ll also be running ongoing team sports. Try your hand at Commentary in one of our workshops or find out more about Sports Consultation at a focussed session for those interested in sports management.
A Sports Cage will be open daily, and will no doubt witness some electric footballing skills from Greenbelters.
Then on Monday look out for our celebratory Village Olympics, with a traditional ‘village green’ feel. Time to get practicing your egg & spoon and three-legged tactics. All ages welcome – look out for more details in the Guide.
Student focus
A big welcome back to Fiona Haworth (University of Worcester) and the team from Student Christian Movement with us to ensure all students and soon-to-be-students are welcome each night. Expect freshly-cooked brownies and a cosy space to meet, laugh and share experiences on student living.
Socials
A valued moment during the festival to pop in and say hello at the popular Methodist Mingle, and we’ll also be offering socials for the young among us. Don’t forget you can catch up with us through the weekend in the G-Source space as well.
