Mike Peters & The Alarm – 30th Anniversary Tour

Longtime Greenbelt favourites, Mike Peters and The Alarm are currently undertaking a UK 30th anniversary tour, in support of their new single Unbreak The Promise, and a new CD The Sound And The Fury.

There are upcoming dates in Liverpool (tonight!), Glasgow, Whitehaven, and Manchester, before they approach "Greenbelt territory" for the final night of their tour at Gloucester Guildhall.

The new single will be released in June and features The Alarm Choir - two thousand Alarm fans singing along, as recorded in Wales this January. It marks the thirtieth year of the Alarm's journey together - they were formed by Mike Peters in 1981, and their sound of amped-up acoustic guitars, harmonica, and impassioned vocals was winningly described as "Bob Dylan meets The Clash". Together, The Alarm produced seventeen UK Top 50 singles, and a host of successful albums, resulting in over five million sales worldwide.

In 2006, Mike Peters was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL), but managed to carry on with Alarm duties even through a heavy schedule of chemotherapy, including an emotional performance at The Joey Ramone Lymphoma Research Benefit Concert in New York. Fortunately, Mike is now in remission and has formed his own cancer charity Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHSF), which undertook a musical to Mt Everest for the highest concert on land, plus further journeys to Macchu Picchu and Kilimanjaro.

Check out the gigs below through May. We wish Mike and the band all the best!

Why not book The ALARM to play Greenbelt again? It's been 20 years since they last played.

I have so many good memories of The Alarm. I was a Big Top compere at Greenbelt when they played it (although Simon Mayo, quite rightly, did the intro). I remember on the night they did a cover of Prince's 'The Cross' - incredible. Would I like them to play Greenbelt again? You bet.
