LIFT Festival 2010

The London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT) 2010 is on now, and features a great range of international theatre across the capital.

LIFT, you'll remember, is where former Greenbelt Director Beki Bateson currently works, after leaving Greenbelt last autumn...

Here's some more information about what's happening over the next three-and-a-half weeks, with a special offer for tickets tonight, if you rush...

LIFT 2010: A London–wide festival of contemporary theatre from across the globe
June 23rd to July 18th 2010

Back for its first citywide festival for nine years, the London International Festival of Theatre presents a cornucopia of international work in found spaces and odd places as well as London’s great cultural venues.

Join the Revolution Now with German/UK collective Gob Squad (ICA 24-26 June); connect with Tsunami survivors in real time through a bespoke internet café in Life Streaming on the Southbank (National 23 June – 3 July); get lost in the Tim Burtonesque Canadian musical fable Nevermore about Edgar Allan Poe (Barbican, July 6-10); be drawn to stories of Iraqis who fled the country after the invasion in the unforgettable Aftermath (Old Vic Tunnels, July 9-17); breathe in the smell of freshly baked bread in the moving Not by Bread Alone by the Israeli deafblind theatre company Nalaga’at (artsdepot 4th-15th July); go on a boat across the Thames and stay awake for a night-long Brazilian retelling of the myth Hotel Medea (July 16-31); and Oxygen, which brings together the RSC and a world- champion troupe of Russian breakdancers (ICA, July 15-18).
