Possibly the strangest of all bands. High energy and raucous one minute and then, at the moment you’re sure it’s all really just a shambles, they shift instantly to expose their carefully crafted compositions and poignancy.
Best of all, Bert clearly enjoys all this as much as the audience. Sometimes missing from the stage, he is often found involved in some form of madness in the crowd – like he’s having the best of all times.
This is music that teeters on the edge, but with songs for all ages, with an innocence and charm that is utterly beguiling.
