Greenbelt recognises the importance of giving space to a range of issues, especially those that are given little or no debate at other Christian events. We do this through informing and resourcing festival-goers and providing links to ongoing annual support in their local area. In this sense, Greenbelt is like 'fertile soil' in which many interests and groups find root. But although Greenbelt understands that many groups in its broader community feel that they have come into being because of the Festival, it is not responsible for — and neither can it officially endorse — such 'other groups'. So, while a temporary, voluntary groupings may form, Greenbelt is not a therapeutic community or a pressure group sponsoring specific single issues.
